CERAMIC HYBRID KART BEARINGS

CBR Bearing Company would like to introduce you to a precision ball bearing, new to the Kart Racing Industry,  that will add speed and lower lap times. It is called a "ceramic hybrid ball bearing", and is the most significant advancement in ball bearing technology since the invention of the ball bearing over 100 years ago. They produce about HALF the friction of conventional steel bearings, thus freeing up horsepower. Think about it. A typical Kart has 6 or 7 wheel bearings, and their cumulative friction is significant, especially at high speeds. As speed increases, drag increases exponentially. But that's not all. Check out these additional features and benefits of CERAMIC HYBRID BALL BEARINGS

bullet

Ceramic ball is tremendously harder than steel (Rockwell 78c versus Rockwell 60c for steel balls).

bullet

Ceramic ball is 60% lighter than a steel ball.

bullet

Ceramic ball is much less prone to "skid".

bullet

Ceramic ball is significantly rounder and has a finer finish than conventional steel balls.

bullet

Operating temperature for ceramic is 2000 degrees F. versus 600 F. degrees for steel.

bullet

Vibration levels of ceramic hybrid bearings average two to seven times lower than that of steel.

bullet

Service life is two to five times longer than conventional steel ball bearings.

One of the fundamental problems with conventional steel ball bearings is their tendency to "micro-weld". This is when microscopic surface "peaks" on the ball and race make contact and actually weld together. This occurs even with light loading and adequate lubrication, because the actual point load at these "peaks" is upwards of one million PSI. As the bearing rotates, the weld is pulled apart and the cycle continues. This "weld-pull" cycle (technically called adhesive wear) results in higher temperatures, higher friction, and decreased life. Adhesive wear is not some laboratory-only phenomenon, but rather a normal process for a conventional steel ball bearing, especially when lubricated by grease (as opposed to oil).

Now here's great news: The ceramic hybrid bearing cannot micro-weld to steel, thus eliminating the problem entirely. Friction is drastically reduced, the bearing runs cooler, and therefore lasts many times longer. And because wear particles generated by adhesive wear are not present, the bearing and lubricant stays cleaner, and lasts even longer.

The only downside of ceramic hybrid ball bearings is price. They are tremendously more expensive to produce than conventional steel types, and until now, have only been affordable by the aerospace and semi-conductor industries. But that is changing fast! CBR Bearing Company now has ceramic hybrid bearings to replace the most common Kart wheel bearings. We had these special-made by a leading Japanese factory and imported them ourselves, so we can offer you a special wholesale price.

CBR Bearing Company is the ONLY source in the nation for the most commonly used Kart wheel bearings in Ceramic Hybrid.

bullet

High-speed/low friction molded polyamide cage. Superior to the conventional steel ribbon type.

bullet

Black, light contact rubber seals on each side of the bearing.

bullet

Advantages:

bullet

Bearing is sealed from dust and moisture, but does not have the high friction of conventional rubber-sealed bearings.

bullet

Rubber seals can be easily removed and replaced for cleaning and re-packing, if needed.

bullet

Black seal does not draw attention-your competitors will not know your secret! (Note: rear axle bearings have a blue seal).

bullet

Pre-packed with high performance Chevron SRI-2 grease rated for 350 degrees F.

bullet

Bearings can be ordered "dry", so you can pack your bearings with your preference of lubricants , or with "Kluber", a thin, light, superior quality high speed spindle grease.
