A quick search on the internet will reveal that there are many places you can purchase ball bearings. Even ceramic hybrid ball bearings, which up until relatively recently were difficult to find, are sold by many different bearing manufacturers—both large and small.
If you just need standard size bearings, you probably won’t have much trouble finding what you need. In fact, here at CBR, we keep many sizes of bearings on our shelves and ready to ship out (even some that other bearing companies wouldn’t consider “standard” sizes). We can ship out bearings up to a 100mm shaft size from our 6000, 6200, and 6300 series on the same day you order them.
But what if you need a specialty ceramic hybrid bearing for your industrial equipment?
CBR has a great solution for those with equipment using large specialty bearings who are wanting to make the switch from steel bearings to ceramic hybrid bearings. We are able to convert existing steel bearings to ceramic hybrid bearings.
Why Convert a Steel Bearing to a Ceramic Hybrid Bearing?
We talk a lot on our website and on this blog about the benefits of ceramic hybrid bearings. They last longer than steel bearings, they are electrically non-conductive, and they perform with 40% less friction. Going with ceramic bearings will likely save you money in the long run and keep your equipment running more efficiently and reliably.
If your industrial equipment currently operates using traditional steel ball bearings, you could just replace all of the bearings with new ceramic hybrid bearings. However, if your equipment has large, specialty bearings, a more cost-effective solution might be to have CBR convert your bearings from all steel to ceramic hybrid bearings. We are able to convert just about any steel bearing, 50 mm bore or larger, by replacing the steel balls with ceramic balls.
CBR has the tooling on-site to do the bearing conversion—right here in our Southern California bearing lab. We don’t have to ship the bearings overseas, or outsource any of the work, so the turnaround time is relatively quick. We know you probably can’t afford to have your equipment down for very long, so we work efficiently to convert your bearings in a timely fashion and ship them back to you as soon as possible.
Since every bearing conversion is custom, contact us for more information about pricing and turnaround times if you’re interested in this service. Our knowledgeable and helpful office staff is also happy to answer any other questions you may have at the same time.
